Dr. Victor Amaya is a dedicated leader at the helm of Data You Can Use serving as the President & Executive Director, driving strategies and operations to make a positive impact on the community's well-being with the goal of democratizing data. With a rich background as an experienced educator, instructional coach, and school leader, he has always been driven by the pursuit of success measures and impactful outcomes. Prior to his role at Data You Can Use, Dr. Amaya held key positions, including leading the Impact Department as the Managing Director and serving as the Interim Executive Director at City Year Milwaukee, the local arm of a prominent national education non-profit.

Born in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Dr. Amaya's journey to leadership in Milwaukee is a testament to his determination and commitment. He made the life-changing move to Milwaukee at the age of twelve, where he later graduated from Riverside University High School within the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) system. His academic journey continued at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Spanish.

Dr. Amaya's dedication to advancing his leadership skills and educational expertise is evident in his extensive academic achievements. He holds a Master of Science in Administrative Leadership and acquired licenses in Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Principal, as well as District Superintendent. His commitment to lifelong learning culminated in the attainment of a Doctorate in Leadership in the Advancement of Learning from Cardinal Stritch University.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Amaya generously contributes his time and expertise to various community causes. He serves as the Founding Director of Techqueria – Milwaukee Chapter, a role through which he fosters diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. Dr. Amaya also plays a pivotal role as an Executive Board Member for the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership, contributing to community development and data-driven initiatives on a national scale.

Furthermore, Dr. Amaya serves as President on multiple boards, including the Southside Organizing Center and Your Move MKE. In these capacities, he leverages his leadership and passion to drive positive change in his own community in the Southside of Milwaukee.In addition to his community involvement and leadership, Dr. Amaya is the Principal and founder of Limitless Mindset, LLC, a consultancy firm dedicated to coaching and developing individuals and organizations to achieve success.

Victor's mission revolves around creating opportunities, investing in individuals, and tearing down barriers that perpetuate inequities, especially for those most adversely affected. In his leisure time, he finds solace in the world of books, maintains a healthy lifestyle through exercise, explores new horizons through travel, and fully embraces the cultural richness that Milwaukee has to offer with his family.
