David Bartelt is a faculty member in Geography and Urban Studies at Temple University, with a research focus on housing and community development. Dr. Bartelt helped develop the original Philadelphia Indicators Project with the Philadelphia Health Management Corporation and The Reinvestment Fund. He works with a variety of community based organizations on issues of affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization. He has coauthored two books on Philadelphia and the region, and has concentrated his recent work on the impacts of the subprime mortgage market and foreclosures on community conditions.
