Design Access Summit 2014

Design Access gathers leaders from design, philanthropy, non-profit, and government to advance our collective ability to create positive change through the built environment. In partnership with Ford Foundation, this year's summit will focus on the opportunity for anchor institutions to play a critical role in the success and well-being of local, low-income communities. We will discuss and advance the leading edge of this work, particularly the role of democratic participation in anchor institution design processes, planning and public policy. At the foreground of the dialogue will be active projects in South Texas and other regions. Individuals and organizations leading anchor institution efforts in local communities will work side-by-side with a national field of leaders from other supportive disciplines. The contributions of Design Access participants will directly influence these works-in-progress and this growing area of study.
