Job responsibilities are: find, download, extract, clean, aggregate, geocode and warehouse data from a variety of raw formats, including PDF, XLS, DBF, CSV, XML, HTML and others. All data related to planning and public policy will be included in these activities. All data processing must be scripted, so scripting experience is a must (e.g., SQL, Python, VBScript, Foxpro, XQuery, etc.)
The Piton Foundation is a private, operating foundation funded to develop and implement programs to improve education, expand economic opportunities for families, and strengthen lower‐income communities.
The Data Analyst will create and manage data systems, as well as process, aggregate, and analyze data. Data will include anything from semi-processed Census and American Community Survey files, to raw, crowd-sourced data collected by local community groups. Data systems and data analysis will support a multitude of D3 projects aimed at driving better decision-making by local groups and policymakers.

The Data Center provides independent, relevant, and reliable data and analysis as a catalyst for decisionmaking in Greater New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana. A primary component of The Data Center’s work includes ingesting data from many different platforms to build a nuanced understanding of issues.
The Data Analyst will clean, transform, and analyze data; create data visualizations such as charts and interactive maps; support D3’s outreach and engagement programs; and help to strengthen and streamline our internal infrastructure.
