NNIP Pre-Meeting Session: Governance and Data Security for Integrated Data Systems
Pre-registration required. Email [email protected] for more information.
NNIP will be coordinating a series of activities around integrated data systems throughout 2017, sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The pre-session before the full NNIP Partners’ Meeting in Baltimore is geared towards advanced topics, and we will be documenting the proceedings to provide future learning opportunities for the network more broadly.
Who should attend: NNIP partners and select guests hosting or actively working on the development of an integrated data system (IDS). For the purposes of this session, IDS are those that integrate confidential data at the person-level, most often from multiple administrative data sources. Given space limitations, we request that no more than 2 people from each partner organization attend. Participants will be expected to fill out a profile beforehand (template forthcoming) about their work related to integrated data to facilitate networking and information sharing.
Purpose of the session: Participants will have the opportunity to network and learn from each other on two issues: system governance and data security. Potential topics for discussion include governance structures; access to the data (and for what purpose); data security plans and procedures; how data are transferred, stored, and accessed; and technical compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and privacy laws for IDS.
