Robert (Bobby) Stahl joined the Urban Strategies Council as a Research Associate in December, 2014, after earning his MPH from UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. Prior to attending graduate school, Bobby proudly spent several years working to influence housing, economic, and climate related policies to improve health in the neighborhoods and communities of historically marginalized groups in the Bay Area. Bobby is a proficient Spanish speaker with a passion for social justice and extensive experience with research & writing, advocacy, and relationship-building in support of social, economic, and racial equity.
Bobby also acts as Co-Director of Outreach and Partnerships for Open Oakland, a volunteer organization working to improve the lives of Oaklanders by advancing civic innovation and open government. He also served as an appointed member of the Equity Advisory Committee of San Francisco's Human Rights Commission in 2014 and is a 2012 alumnus of Urban Habitat's Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute. Bobby is a graduate of the University of Texas and is originally from the Texas-Mexico border, but has now called the Bay Area home for more than 6 years.
