Since joining Thoughtwell in 2016 Jake has led projects including an evaluation of a child development program (United Way’s Columbus Kids), and an assessment of possible strategies for the City to encourage young professionals to Columbus with the Create Columbus Commission. He has also worked alongside colleagues on other projects for the City, JFS, and FCCS, as well as other projects for a diverse range of clients. Jake’s research background in religion and political engagement, as well as previous work in financial services and recruitment, sparked his interest in local economic development and recognizing the importance of local people becoming stakeholders in development. Jake hopes his research at Thoughtwell can be useful in broadening community participation and ensuring that the concerns of the people affected are a priority in program development.
