Regional New Address/Change Address Survey

MassGIS and MAPC will be conducting interviews with local officials, research on web sites, collection and review of existing documents to create a description for each community of the process whereby new addresses are created and assigned, existing addresses get changed, and old addresses dropped. The main purposes of collecting this information are (1) to identify local datasets which may be used to improve a point address dataset created at a regional and (2) to identify local circumstances which will inform the design of workflows to ensure that a regional point address dataset in a GIS is kept up-to-date. MAPC is pursuing this work because a region wide parcel database is one of MetroFuture’s “10 most wanted data sets.”
