Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods (RON) Housing Survey

In Milwaukee, four neighborhoods have worked together since about 2014 in conducting housing surveys of exterior conditions. This coalition is called Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods (RON) and began as a resident-driven effort to hold absentee landlords accountable for the condition of their properties.  As circumstances and available resources have evolved to change with the times, other partners have become involved.  This collaboration has since grown in its scope and includes a housing data users group and an advocacy group, as well as an open invitation for other MKE neighborhoods to participate in the housing surveys. This group recently moved from paper surveys that were entered into an antique application that is no longer maintained by the city to Landgrid.
