Neighborhood Data for Social Change (Los Angeles)
Opportunity youth are individuals between the age of 16 and 24 who are neither working nor in school. They often leave school or work because of healthcare issues, pregnancy, a need to care for younger siblings or caretakers, or because they are struggling and feel disconnected in school. It is estimated that there are currently around 73,000 opportunity youth living in Los Angeles. Read more in the Price Center's 2017 report here.
