BNIA In the Classroom

Through generous funding from the UB Provost Office, the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance at the Jacob France Institute will be hosting a faculty workshop to engage faculty across many disciplines to collaboratively create learning modules that can be used in syllabi. This project is heavily modelled after the KIDSCount in the Classroom  and we have received terrific support from the  Teaching with Data resources at the University of Michigan. 

This is part of a greater technology grant proposal that provides funding for technical and research assistance to develop learning modules, analytical tools and easier access to the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance-Jacob France Institute (BNIA-JFI) community-based indicators for faculty use and adaption to their respective programs.  The modules can be integrated in online learning platforms and thus used in courses delivered as face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online. This proposal helps diffuse BNIA-JFI’s longitudinal and innovative community-based data into courses and programs across campuses by providing faculty with easy-to-use modules and analytical tools that can engage and stimulate high level learning among students.
