Defining Opportunity: Engagement, Equity and Analysis in the Twin Cities

This presentation was given at the Community Indicators Consortium Impact 2013 conference.

This presentation describes CURA's analytic work to support the Fair Housing and Equity Assessment, a requirement of the HUD Sustainable Communities Grant.  CURA contributed data on crime and the environment and consulted on indicators.  The presentation includes how the Twin Cities team defined and mapped "opportunity" through cluster analysis, which was conducted by the Institute for Metropolitan Opportunity (formerly Institute on Race and Poverty) for the initiative report submitted to HUD.
