7.2 SQ MI

In 2011, the Hudson-Webber Foundation assembled representatives of Data Driven Detroit, the Downtown Detroit Partnership, the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, Midtown Detroit, Inc., and D:hive to explore the production of a report about the Greater Downtown Detroit area. The project was driven by the need for relevant information for potential investors in the area. Data Driven Detroit provides technical support for the report on topics including greenways, public spaces, grocery stores, cultural institutions, schools, and demographics.

An initial draft of the report was produced in early 2012. The final draft, titled 7.2 SQ MI: A Report on Greater Downtown Detroit, was released in February 2013. D3 is already participating in discussions about reproducing the report at regular intervals.
