Growing Station Areas: The Variety and Potential of TOD

The Data Services epartment, in collaboration with the Dukakis Center at Northeastern University released its report “Growing Station Areas: The Variety and Potential of TOD in Metro Boston”. The report analyzes over 250 fixed guide way, bus-rapid transit, and commuter rail stations in the MetroFuture region, establishing ten distinct station area types ranging from Metro Core stations in Downtown Boston to Undeveloped suburban stations. The study also estimates the potential of TOD in the region over the next 25 years. The report was released at a ULI event at the Suffolk University Law School on June 14th, 2012 with Jonathan Davis, MBTA General Manager, giving opening remarks.
