Within the first week of the stay-at-home order, CI:NOW’s analysis suggests that 1,271 lives were saved in the San Antonio region. With 60 days of social distancing and staying at home, 9,644 lives may be saved. This is the same number of lives taken by the region’s top five causes of death: heart disease and stroke, cancer, Alzheimer's, accidents, and diabetes.
