What we can learn from voter data? Using voter registration data and other local data to track intra-county mobility and possible displacement

Where do the residents in these neighborhoods move if they are displaced? Who is moving into these areas of high neighborhood change and of high displacement risk? How can this displacement risk be mitigated? How can we identify neighborhoods in need of displacement risk and change mitigation? The availability of multiple years of voter registration data allows for an individualized look across time and space to assess the mobility of registered voters, specifically those who move in to or out of one of these areas. Learning where residents who may be at risk for displacement move to sheds light on the areas where programmatic support for residents at risk for displacement and neighborhoods not yet seeing high rates of change may be best focused in Charlotte, NC.
