We need Systems Indicators for Equity

Ritika Sharma Kurup, Senior Director of Learning and Activation, provided a summary of StriveTogether's peer learning network and their Racial and Ethnic Equity Action Team. The network, which serves over 67 nationwide communities, began their systems indicators work in 2019, motivated by an urgency to shift policies, practices, resources, and power structures that support young people of color and people facing poverty. Ultimately, Kurup and the team defined systems indicators as: A measurement (both qualitative and quantitative) that reveals inequities in how resources, decision-making power and opportunities are distributed to inform policies and practices within institutions, organizations and programs that are interdependent and/or related.
