NNIP Partner Application: Portland State University, Institute of Portland Metropolitan Studies

This is the application of the Institute of Portland Metropolitan Studies at Portland State University to join NNIP.

The Institute of Portland Metropolitan Studies (IMS) advances the economic, environmental, and social goals of the Portland metropolitan region by gathering and disseminating credible information, convening regional partners, and stimulating dialogue and action about critical regional issues. In addition, the IMS provides statewide information about demographic trends through the Population Research Center (PRC), an affiliate program of IMS.

The IMS and the PRC are both historically viewed as neutral sources of information on important public policy issues. IMS believes that universities are uniquely qualified to fill the neutral convener role. IMS does not advocate specific positions on issues; however, they do draw conclusions that are justified by information, data, and analysis.
