The Children's Corridor
The Children's Corridor is both a geographic reference and an idea. The geography is a 14-mile long stretch from northeast Denver to Green Valley Ranch, which includes 13 Denver neighborhoods and one Aurora neighborhood. The Corridor is home to 54,000 children; roughly two-thirds of them face the hardships of poverty, underperforming schools, undereducated parents, poor nutrition, unsafe neighborhoods, or some combination of these. The idea is to give our children the start in life they all deserve and to make this a serious, citywide priority. The idea is to also focus community resources, energy and ideas on more effective, more accessible health and education services that help children grow into self-reliant, healthy and successful members of society.
